Staff Career Development Grants

Staff Career Development Grants (maximum $500 each) are awarded each year to assist eligible Ohio State staff members with education and training costs associated with the pursuit of professional development and career goals. Grants may be awarded for expenses such as registration fees, tuition fees, textbooks, childcare expenses, job search/outplacement expenses, and transportation. Grants are awarded for activities that occur during the 2010 calendar year.
Applicants must meet one of the following conditions:
- All regular full-time and part-time Administrative and Professional and Classified Civil Service staff with at least two years of continuous employment with The Ohio State University, are eligible to apply for a grant. Grants for part-time employees will be pro-rated on the basis of their full-time equivalency. (Faculty, student employees, and staff on temporary appointments are NOT eligible.)
- Former OSU staff members with at least two continuous years of university service and currently unemployed due to the elimination of job position.
Applications are evaluated on the proposed use of funds, percentage of cost shared by other sources, and the potential benefits for the staff member, her/his department, and the university. Grants of up to $500 will be awarded at the discretion of the Staff Career Development Grants selection committee. Applicants who have not previously received a grant are given priority consideration. Retroactive funding is not provided. These grants are funded through contributions to the Campus Campaign's Staff Career Development Fund and administered by the Office of Human Resources.
