This interactive multimedia workshop will be held in the Foreign Language Center's Experimental Classroom. Students will work in small groups and "fly" virtually to a global city of their choice using Google Earth. As they "visit" the location they will search for information about the country's languages, culture, and interesting sites.

Is science fun for you? Is math interesting to you? We would like to show you how Industrial Engineers use math and science to solve problems in the work world and in society. We have a few activities planned in which you "become" an Industrial Engineer. You will have hands-on involvement in working on several simulations of "real world" situations.

470 million years ago the land we call Ohio was under the ocean and was located 20 degrees south of the equator, about where Australia is today - Ohio was like the Bahamas! Come learn about ancient Ohio, including the neat animals that lived and died to become fossils. During the tour real fossils will be passed around, including trilobites and mammoth and mastodon teeth.

The program will begin with learning about the Veterinary School Program ("So, you want to be a Vet?") and viewing some educational displays in the academic building. Students will then tour the hospital and observe students, technicians and clinicians treating both companion animals and farm animals in a teaching hospital/clinic setting.

This session will start with a general airport tour and then participants will have the opportunity to actively participate in three groups: Flight School will put you in a training aircraft and show you how to use weather briefings for flight planning; Simulators will give you the opportunity to simulate flying an airplane and the Tower Visit will give you a chance to observe controllers who manage incoming and outgoing flights.
