HRIS Issue Status

This page is being provided to help distributed HRIS end users stay informed about current Version 8.9 issues that have either recently been resolved or are currently being worked to a resolution. 

The intent of this communication is not to list all system problems that are being experienced, but to provide awareness about system issues that:

  1. impact critical business services.
  2. have impact on impending deadlines.
  3. effect a large group of people or system users.

Additional Pay

Approval Check Box

When updates are made to previously approved additional pay entries, the approval box remains checked

Fixed as of September 28th.  Updates to previously approved entries now require re-approval.

Job Data

Fund/Account Codes missing

This random error causes the fund/account code not be visible in Job Data, AMCP and the GL.


Additional resources have been allocated to research this issue without success. Completion date TBD.

 

New Hires Not Visible New hires cannot immediately be found in the HRIS system when searching by name and or employee ID number. This delay is due to security programs that are new to v 8.9 which are running behind the scenes. Users need to be aware that there may be up to an hour delay in viewing new hires.

Position Data

***Update*** Postion data intiators are unable to make updates to exiting positions

Position data initiators are unable to make updates to existing positions once it has been saved. The workaround for this was to temporarily give department level approver roles to all position data initiators. While this permits initiators to make updates it causes an SOD violation to appear on the report.

Fixed as of October 17th. Only department and college level approvers will have access to approval boxes. Any new issues should be reported to your payroll analyst.

***Update*** Exception User Report

 

No report is currently available to monitor and approve all Job Data actions performed by users designated in the new "exception user" role as required for access.

A new Exception User Job Data Pivot Report is currently in testing. Report to be available in early November.

***Update*** Additional Pay Activity Report This random error results in entries approved in the HRIS System not to display as approved on the Additional Pay Activity Report In testing. System fixes expected to be in production by November 2nd.

All three reports require updates to ensure that data needed for initiators and approvers is provided and, in a more user friendly format.

Panels not visible

View only access for “approvers” does not include all pages necessary for a through review of an initiators entries.

***Update*** College level initiator

After the department deadline window has closed, college level initiators cannot correct/update Job Data or Timekeeping.

Fixed as of October 17th. The College Deadline role allows for Job Data updates up to the College Deadline date. Requests to add this role should be submitted to access@osu.edu by the SFO.

Calendar Feature

Calendar feature in the HR system will not open.

This is a cache file issue. To fix, follow these steps to delete your internet cache files. Click on Internet Explorer and select Tools from the top menu. Select Internet Options. On the General tab (1st tab), click on Delete Cookies and then click Ok. Click on Delete Files. Click OK when finished.

Timekeeping

Negative leave balance error message

Negative leave balance error message is displaying when sick time and vacation balance are  available

Fixed as of October 9th. Users now receive an error message if vacation and or sick time entered exceeds the balance.
