Policy Reminder: Self-Disclosure of Criminal Convictions

As part of The Ohio State University’s Self-Disclosure of Criminal Convictions Policy, all current faculty, staff, graduate associates and student employees, appointees, volunteers and staff provided by third party vendors are required to self-disclose criminal convictions that occur within three business days of the conviction.

Distinguished Staff Award Nominations Accepted Until February 9

The Distinguished Staff Awards recognize and celebrate staff members who have made an impact at The Ohio State University. The annual award honors 12 outstanding staff members for their significant leadership, accomplishments and service to the university.

Staff Career Development Grant Applications Accepted Until January 31

The Staff Career Development Grant provides staff with an opportunity to further their growth and development. Grants can be used for professional development, education or training costs related to job and/or career goals. 

Updated Family and Medical Leave Policy Effective February 1, 2015

The Ohio State University, including the Wexner Medical Center, provides job-protected Family and Medical Leave (FML) to eligible faculty and staff for up to 12 work weeks (480 hours) of leave during a 12-month period based on qualifying events. On February 1, 2015, changes to the FML policy will take effect.  These changes include updated to FML eligibility, adding student employees as covered employees and modifying immediate family-member definitions to be consistent with federal guidelines.

The Ohio State University reaches nearly 500,000 youth annually through more than 600 activities and programs in all of Ohio’s 88 counties. Throughout the past year, the Office of Human Resources has worked to formulate and approve a renewed policy regarding youth participation in University activities and programs. Ohio State’s goal is clear: to promote the safety and welfare of minors who participate in our activities and programs.
